How To Make Your Halloween A Little Healthier

It’s almost October. You know what that means. Every store you go to and every aisle you walk down will have, you guessed it, candy. Now, some people become scared of Halloween after Bariatric surgery, but Halloween doesn’t have to be scary (although we are all for spooky Halloweens).

We want you to have the best Halloween ever, even though your pumpkin might look a little different from the kiddos who have 5 pounds of chocolate in their pumpkin (although really guys, five pounds of chocolate will put anyone into a not-so-pleasant haze). That’s why we’ve created this list of the top five Halloween candy alternatives (some of which will surprise you).

Decadent Double Chocolate Square Bars

First off, we’re starting with the candy. To make your Halloween sweet and safe, we have our amazing Proti Diet Decadent Double Chocolate Square Bars! These babies will make your mouth water and will make you forget the fact that they are, indeed, healthy. They taste just like a nutty fudge brownie and are packed with a whopping 15 grams of protein per bar. At 170 calories a serving, you can permit yourself some Halloween chocolate delight with these delicious bars.

Chocolate and Caramel Crispy Bites

Next, we have our Proti Diet chocolate and caramel crispy bites, a staff favorite. We love these little bites because they come with two of our favorite things: chocolate and caramel. The caramel is really the cherry on top with these bites because it helps bring all the flavors together. These lovely bites are filled with 12 grams of protein and are only 160 calories per serving.

Treat yourself!

Now, we’re pretty sure everyone here knows Halloween is not just about candy (although candy is pretty cool). Halloween is also about having fun and treating yourself after you give treats to others. That’s why this Halloween we want you to treat yourself. Go and get a massage, get a manicure or even curl up with a good book under a cozy blanket. You can also watch a good scary movie with a friend! There are tons of ways you can treat yourself this Halloween. In fact, Griffin Bariatrics has some pretty cool suggestions.

Pretzels

Another good alternative to Halloween candy is pretzels. Pretzels are low in fat and are really good alternatives to chips or other snacks. You can put pretzels in little Halloween bags if you’re giving out candy. Giving out pretzels will also keep you away from having loads of unhealthy candy around the house and feeling tempted.

Toys

If you’re giving out Halloween goodies and don’t want to give out candies, another good alternative is toys! Kids don’t look at the size of the cost of the toy, they just look at it as something to have fun with. You can buy some cheap cool toys at the supermarket or your local dollar store.

Remember, Halloween doesn’t have to be scary just because you’re on a new diet. Make sure to enjoy this spooky holiday with family, friends and healthy food. Have a favorite healthy Halloween treat you didn’t see on here? Let us know in the comments below!
